ARTISTS AND DOCUMENTARIES
Art and film media are one of the main vehicles to
express important messages to the public. Many artists have chosen
this vehicle to create awareness around eating disorders. We’re proud to feature some
of these artists at this year’s Evening Under the Stars…
DOCUMENTARIES and FILMS:
Wonderful, Wonderful … a 17-minute
short film on Sarah Heer, an adolescent girl who chooses anorexia to
fill the void in her life. Willing to risk her friends, family, and
even her life for her new obsession, she finds that in the end, her
goal for perfection leaves her even more empty. Created and Directed
by Trey Chace.
Film Teaser: www.ologyproductions.com/movies/wonderfulSmall.mov
This film will be showing at 5:00pm and 7:00pm

ART EXHIBITS:
The works of artist Janna Stern is featured through "Measure
for Measure: An Artistic Exploration on the Mythology
of Eating Disorders" In
this exhibit, Stern uses her experience in digital art
to "articulate
the forces at work in eating disorders." According to "Eating
Disorder Awareness and Prevention," five to ten million adolescent
girls and women, and 1 million boys and men struggle
with eating disorders and borderline conditions -- a sum
total that triples the number of people living with AIDS in the United
States www.jannastern.com

Expressive Art Therapy: The Nonverbal Cues of Recovery
by
Rachel Levi
Healthy Women in Recovery by Caitlin Kinsey Scafati
